This document answers questions related to both our web service and accessing the numerous resources available.
Administrative Questions
Retrieve Forgotten Password
If you have forgotten your password, follow these instruction to set up a new password. First go to the home page. On the menu bar, click on "Support" and then on "Forgotten Password". Click on the link that reads "Forgotten your password?". You will need to create a new password. In the field marked "E-mail Address", type in the e-mail address that you use to login to the website. Click "Submit".
You will be sent an e-mail with instructions for changing your password, a link to the page to change your password, and an access code to enter for validation.
Click on the link in the e-mail to display the Change Password page. (Note: If your e-mail client does not support links, you will need to copy the link and paste it into the browser address text box.). In the fields provided, enter your E-mail address, the access code that was emailed to you, and your NEW password. Reenter your new password in the last box for verification purposes. Click "Submit".
(See below if your e-mail address has changed since you registered with the site.)
Retrieve Forgotten Password AND E-mail Address Has Changed
If you have forgotten your password AND also changed your e-mail address since registering with the site, first go to the home page. On the menu bar, click on "Support" and then on "Forgotten Password". Click on the link that reads "Forgotten your password and changed your e-mail address since your last visit?". You will need to enter your old and new e-mail addresses. In the field marked "Old E-mail Address", enter the e-mail address you originally used to register on the website. In the field marked "New E-mail Address", enter your new e-mail address. Click "Submit".
You will be sent an e-mail to both your old and new e-mail addresses. For security purposes, the e-mail sent to your old e-mail address will inform you that the e-mail address has been changed. The e-mail sent to your new address will include instructions for changing your password, a link to the page to change your password, and an access code for validation.
Click on the link in the e-mail to display the change password page. (Note: If your e-mail client does not support links, you will need to copy the link and paste it into the browser address text box.). In the fields provided, enter your NEW e-mail address, the access code that was emailed to you, and your NEW password. Reenter your new password in the last box for verification purposes. Click "Submit".
Changing E-mail Address
Note: To change your e-mail address you must be logged in to the website using your current e-mail address (the e-mail address currently registered on the website) and password. To change your e-mail address, click on "Support" on the menu bar located at the top of every page. Click on "Access User Profile". Change the e-mail address currently listed to the e-mail address you want to use to login on future visits. Click "Submit". A confirmation screen will appear if your User Profile has been successfully updated.
Changing Password
Note: To change your Password you must be logged in to the website using your e-mail address and current password. To change your password, click on "Support" on the menu bar located at the top of every page. Click on "Access User Profile". Under "Password" enter the password you want to use to login on future visits. Reenter the NEW password in the field marked "Re-enter Password". Click "Submit". A confirmation screen will appear if your User profile has been successfully updated.
Receiving Multiple E-mail Addresses and Passwords
You are entitled to a single user account (one e-mail address and password) for each Delaware Laws Governing Business Entities set you have purchased. For Mulit-user license pricing, please email cscpublications@lexisnexis.com.
Contact the Website Administrators
There are two methods of contacting the website administrators:
1. Click on "Support" on the menu bar near the top of every page on the site. Then under the heading "Contact Us," click on the linked text which reads "E-mail form." You will be taken to a web form where you can enter the required information and ask your question using the "Comments" text box.
OR
2. Send an e-mail to cscpublications@lexisnexis.com. In your e-mail, please include "Delaware Business Entity Law Website" in the Subject line, and the following details in the body of the message:
*Your current e-mail address.
*Firm or organization name, if applicable
*Customer account number (from your invoice) if available
*Phone Number
Please allow up to three business days for a response.

Using the Resources
Additional Resources Available on this Site
In addition to the complete contents of Delaware Laws Governing Business Entities, this website also contains the full text of cited cases, annotated forms for Delaware business transactions, as well as sample bylaws and operating agreements.
Viewing the Currency of Each Resource
You may view the Currency for each resource by first clicking on "Search" on the menu bar near the top of every page on the site. Please note: you must be "signed in" to view this page.
A list of resources will appear, beginning part way down the page. To the left of each listed resource, there is an "i" icon. Hovering over this button will take you to a description of the currency of the corresponding resource.
Browsing the Resources Page by Page
To browse the resources page by page, first click on "Search" on the menu bar near the top of every page on the site. Please note: you must be "signed in" to view this page.
A list of resources will appear, beginning part way down the page. To the left of each listed resource, there is a "book" icon. Clicking on this button will take you to a browsable version of this resource.
Construct a General Search
To construct a general search, you may use the main search form accessible by clicking on "Search" on the menu bar near the top of every page on the site. Please note: you must be "signed in" to view this page.
Enter the keywords you wish to use for your search in the box labeled "Enter Search Terms" near the top left-hand side of the page.
For information on how to structure your keyword search, see the Search Tips portion of this help document (below).
Please note: when you are browsing inside a resource, a smaller search box will be available near the top of each screen. You may enter keywords into this box to search within the publication you are currently viewing.
Performing a Citation Search
A special search form is provided for performing citation searches. First, click on "Search" on the menu bar near the top of every page on the site. Please note: you must be "signed in" to view this page.
If you know the citation format type it in on the Citation Search field along the right bar of the page. If you don't know the exact citation format you may click on Citation Formats below the search field to view examples of Federal and Delaware Reported and Unreported citation formats.
Search Tips Overview
It is possible to refine your query by using wildcard and Boolean search operators to focus your search. Examples of each operator are provided in the table below:
Type of Search: ? Example: wom?nb??k Description: A question mark (?) is the wildcard for single character searches. For example, "wom?n" would find both "woman" and "women," while "b??k" would find both "book" and "bank." A question mark (?) is the wildcard for single character searches. For example, "wom?n" would find both "woman" and "women," while "b??k" would find both "book" and "bank."
Type of Search: * Example: work* Description: An asterisk (*) is the wildcard for multiple character searches. For example, "work*" would find "work," "worked," and "workhorse."
Type of Search: Synonym/Thesaurus Search Example: child$ Description: Placing a dollar symbol ($) on the end of a term finds synonyms of the word. In this example, the search would find child, children, young, youth, and other related terms.
Type of Search: Stem Search Example: run% Description: Placing a percent symbol (%) on the end of a term finds the word forms of the term. In this example, the search would find "ran," "runs," and "running."
Type of Search: And Example: child and disability Description: "And" searches for multiple words in the same document. In this example, each document must contain both "child" and "disability."
Type of Search: Or Example: disability or handicap Description: "Or" searches for multiple words, where each of the words may or may not be in the same document. In this example, each document may contain only "disability," or only "handicap," or both words.
Type of Search: Not Example: disability not handicap Description: "Not" may be used to search for documents that do not contain a particular term. In this example, the search would find all documents that contain "disability," but do not contain "handicap."
Type of Search: XOr Example: disability xor handicap Description: "XOr" or "exclusive or" finds all documents that contain one term or another term, but not both. In this example, the search would find all documents that contain either disability or handicap, but not both terms.
Type of Search: Word Proximity (Ordered) Example: "child disability"/5 Description: Using the forward slash with a number finds documents which contain the words specified, in that order, within the range of words specified. In this example, the search will find documents that contain "child" and "disability" in that order, within a five word range.
Type of Search: Word Proximity (Unordered) Example: "child disability"@14 Description: Using the @ symbol with a number finds documents which contain the words specified, in any order, within the range of words specified. In this example, the search will find documents that contain "child" and "disability" in any order, within a 14 word range.
Type of Search: Document Proximity (Ordered) Example: "child disability"/S Description: Using the forward slash with an "S" finds documents which contain the words specified, in that order. In this example, the search will find documents that contain "child" and "disability" in that order.
Type of Search: Document Proximity (Unordered) Example: "child disability"@S Description: Using the @ symbol with an "S" finds documents which contain the words specified, in any order. In this example, the search will find documents that contain "child" and "disability" in any order.
